CLARITY Act Hopes Hinge on Overcoming Seven Major Obstacles
The CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at clarifying which agency oversees the US cryptocurrency market, has sparked debate and speculation about its potential impact on Bitcoin's price. Analysts suggest that if the act is passed before November, Bitcoin could rise to $200,000, but this scenario is considered unlikely with an estimated one in four chance of success.
Currently, Bitcoin trades at around $64,671, down 49% from its historical maximum of $126,080. The CLARITY Act's passage would provide much-needed regulatory clarity for institutional investors, who have been hesitant to enter the market due to uncertainty and risk.
CK Zheng, a former Credit Suisse risk manager, stated that 'clear rules are often more important than short-term volatility' for large players. However, there are seven obstacles standing in the way of the act's passage, including opposition from Democratic senators and concerns over Donald Trump's crypto earnings.
