CLARITY Act Nears Final Stages as White House Seeks September Passage
After over a year of negotiations, the CLARITY Act is nearing its final stages. White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt described it as entering a 'binary stage', where a small number of unresolved issues will determine its outcome.
The bill aims to provide clarity on digital asset regulations and would assign responsibilities to the SEC and CFTC. It also seeks to prevent overlapping or contradictory rules.
President Donald Trump has expressed his desire for the CLARITY Act to be completed in September, before Congress enters recess. If lawmakers fail to pass the bill, regulators may pursue provisions through the regulatory process.
