CLARITY Act Passage Seen as Catalyst for Programmable Money Revolution
Fundstrat's Tom Lee predicts that the passage of the CLARITY Act in the United States will supercharge the crypto market, making it the 'programmable software layer of money.'
Lee believes that when this happens, things like loyalty points and reputation could start behaving like money, especially in the hands of AI agents.
BlackRock Senior Managing Director Samara Cohen echoed Lee's sentiment, stating that the bill is an 'important step toward establishing a regulatory framework for digital assets that puts investors first.'
The CLARITY Act has passed the House with strong bipartisan support and advanced out of the Senate Banking Committee, but recent negotiations have centered on an ethics and conflict-of-interest section. A merged Senate text was released on July 22, incorporating ethics provisions.
