CLARITY Act Passage Seen as 'Very Close' Despite Voting Gap
The CLARITY Act has faced delays in the Senate, but its passage is still considered likely. Coinbase Vice Chairman Ryan VanGrack believes that the obstacles are shrinking and that the bill can pass.
VanGrack stated that the pressure to finalize the bill has allowed parties to 'sharpen their focus and prioritize what really matters.' He noted that law enforcement, retail investors, and asset managers have aligned around a comprehensive regulatory framework introduced by the CLARITY Act.
The bill currently holds 51 confirmed yes votes, with 60 needed to pass. VanGrack said that all of the outstanding hurdles 'appear surmountable' as Democrats and Republicans continue to work together on the remaining issues.
