CLARITY Act Seeks Bipartisan Momentum Ahead of September 15 Senate Vote
House Financial Services Chairman French Hill has expressed optimism that the CLARITY Act could advance in the Senate on September 15, as part of a procedural vote. This comes after the bill's earlier passage in the House with 78 Democratic votes.
Hill emphasized the importance of bipartisan support for the legislation, pointing to the House's previous vote as evidence of its broad appeal. He also referenced the GENIUS Act, which established a federal framework for payment stablecoins and has already cleared Congress.
However, Hill noted that ethics provisions remain among the issues being negotiated in the Senate, contributing to delays before the August recess and ongoing discussions ahead of the September vote.
