CLARITY Act Sets Stage for New Era in Compliant Crypto Yield

Share

The CLARITY Act has cleared the Senate Banking Committee and is expected to move to a full Senate vote, potentially as early as July. A single provision in the bill could create a new market for compliant crypto yield and regulated DeFi infrastructure.

According to Joe Vollono, chief commercial officer at STBL, the shift would generate an entirely new market for active, regulated yield services. He said that Section 404 of the legislation would bar Digital Asset Service Providers and their affiliates from offering yield solely as a function of holding a digital asset.

Vollono explained that this provision would force a move from passive reward structures to strategies that require capital to be deployed actively. 'You're going to need compliant yield strategies to generate rewards on what would otherwise be idle capital,' he said.
