CLARITY Act Teeters on Passage as Senate Holds Crunch Vote
The Senate is holding a cloture vote today on the CLARITY Act, and Republicans control 53 seats. This means that 7 to 9 Democrats need to cross the aisle to reach the 60-vote threshold for passage.
Connor Brown, Executive Director of the Bitcoin Policy Institute and a former Senate staffer, explained the stakes in this vote. He noted that two possible abstentions from Republicans could still lead to a narrow passage of the bill.
If the CLARITY Act passes, it would be a significant development for cryptocurrency regulation in the US.
