CLARITY Act Vote Set to Feature Surprising Procedural Twist
The upcoming vote on the CLARITY Act in the Senate may not be as straightforward as it seems. According to Tyler Williams, a crypto policy expert, senators will first need to pass a cloture vote with at least 60 approvals before moving forward with the legislation.
This procedural twist has led some to suggest that those who disagree with certain aspects of the bill might still have to approve it in order to bring about debate and potential amendments. If the cloture vote is successful, senators will be able to discuss the bill, propose changes, and make actual decisions. However, if it fails, the process will not proceed in the same way.
