Clarity Act Vote Uncertainty Weighs on Bitcoin Price
Bitcoin's price is stuck in limbo ahead of the Clarity Act vote, caught between fresh daily ETF demand and heavier institutional selling. On one hand, Bitcoin ETFs recorded a $147.42 million net inflow on September 15, despite a negative seven-day net flow of $336.16 million. However, Ethereum ETFs are showing stronger flows, with $95.44 million in one-day inflows and $221.91 million over seven days.
The mining side is also causing concern, as at least 35 EH/s is slated to leave listed miners. IREN plans to exit by year-end, while Cipher could follow by the end of 2027. This trend does not automatically mean a collapse for Bitcoin, but it shows the industry's increasing shift towards another opportunity.
A whale with a reported 77% win rate and over $1 million in profits has opened a $54 million short position just hours before the Clarity Act voting. The timing alone raises questions about what this whale knows, adding to the uncertainty surrounding Bitcoin's price action.
