CLARITY Bill Vote Delayed Until September, Raising Industry Uncertainty

Share

The cryptocurrency industry is expressing disappointment as the U.S. Senate has delayed a vote on the CLARITY bill until September.

The bill, which aims to provide clarity on digital asset market structure, was expected to pass before the Senate's month-long recess but failed to meet this deadline.

According to reports, the Senate Majority Leader John Thune submitted a motion on August 9 to bring the CLARITY bill to the floor for consideration, paving the way for a vote after reconvening in mid-September.

However, with the vote pushed back, prospects for the bill's passage have become more uncertain. Senator Cynthia Lummis has expressed frustration that the Senate has not scheduled a CLARITY vote and vowed to continue pushing for its passage.
