Clayton Exits Finance to Head US Intelligence
Jay Clayton, the former SEC chairman who sued Ripple for $1.3 billion on his last day in office, has been appointed as the US Director of National Intelligence (DNI). This new role does not influence SEC or crypto regulations, including Ripple's case.
Clayton replaced Bill Pulte, who served as acting DNI and led the Federal Housing Finance Agency. After cutting the ODNI staff by about 30%, Pulte has returned full-time to housing finance.
XRP's price showed little reaction to Clayton's appointment, remaining down 64% over the past year.
