CleanSpark Abandons Bitcoin Mining, Shifts Sandersville Campus to High-Performance Computing
CleanSpark is transitioning its Sandersville campus from Bitcoin mining to high-performance computing under a multibillion-dollar agreement.
The company has signed a 20-year lease with an unnamed global technology firm, which is expected to generate approximately $6.6 billion in contracted revenue over its initial term.
CleanSpark's current use of the site for Bitcoin mining will shift towards high-performance computing, with a new data center being built down the road from the existing operation.
The company plans to reuse the power currently running in the Bitcoin mine and migrate it into the new data center footprint by the end of 2027 or early 2028.
