CleanSpark Secures $6.6 Billion Data Center Deal Amid Industry Slump
CleanSpark is taking a major step towards becoming a broader data center operator by partnering with an unnamed tech company for its Sandersville campus in Georgia. The agreement, valued at $6.6 billion over 20 years, highlights the company's efforts to diversify beyond Bitcoin mining.
The production front showed signs of weakness, however, as three publicly traded Bitcoin miners - CleanSpark, BitFuFu, and Canaan - saw their July production decline for the second consecutive month. CleanSpark produced 586 BTC in July, a decrease of about 5% from June's 614 BTC.
The company's average hashrate also dropped by approximately 9%, compared to June, with an average production of 18.9 BTC per day throughout July. CleanSpark ranked 10th on the list of largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasuries, holding 13,931 BTC at the end of the month.
