Clear Signing: Crypto's HTTPS Moment for Institutional and Mass Adoption
The crypto industry has long struggled with a fundamental flaw: blind signing. This process involves users authorizing transactions without clear understanding of what they're approving, often resulting in costly losses and security breaches.
Take for example the February 2025 Bybit exploit, which removed roughly $1.5 billion in assets, the largest crypto theft on record, or the WazirX breach that cost users close to $235 million.
Fortunately, a solution is emerging: Clear Signing, an open standard developed by Ledger and now governed by the Ethereum Foundation under its Trillion Dollar Security Initiative. This protocol aims to remove one of the last structural barriers standing between crypto and mainstream trust.
