Clearpool Abandons Ethereum for XRP Ledger
Ripple's On-Chain Lending Partner Switches to XRP Ledger
Clearpool, an on-chain lending protocol, is leaving the Ethereum ecosystem behind and migrating its core infrastructure to the XRP Ledger. The platform will also be launching a major commercial product, an institutional credit fund to finance fintech and payment companies, in partnership with Cicada Partners.
The CLEAR token allocation structure has been designed for transparency, with the goal of open, auditable terms and allocations. To prevent the new token from losing value, Clearpool is implementing a strict deflationary model, where 50% of fees generated by lending products will be used to buy back tokens on the market and permanently burn them.
Ripple has joined the fund as a limited partner, providing capital needed for liquidity. Hex Trust, a regulated custodian, will handle security and borrower verification, connecting new XRPL pools with ERC-20 infrastructure.
