Clearpool Abandons Ethereum for XRP Ledger in On-Chain Lending Move

Clearpool, Ripple's on-chain lending partner, is switching from Ethereum to the XRP Ledger for its native token and core infrastructure. This move positions Clearpool as a major player in institutional capital markets on the XRPL network.

The XRP Ledger has traditionally been associated with cross-border payments, not DeFi activity. However, with the launch of the XRPL v3 upgrade, the network now features native lending mechanisms. Clearpool is entering this market at an early stage and aims to replicate the success of Morpho's model on Ethereum, which has attracted over $14 billion in deposits.

The new CLEAR token will become a symbol of transparency, with open and auditable terms and allocations. The project will use 50% of fees generated by lending products to buy back tokens and permanently burn them, while the remaining 50% will be distributed to active stakers.
