Clearpool Bets Big on XRP Ledger Lending Protocol Upgrade
Clearpool is advancing its institutional lending framework to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), marking a significant move for the decentralized credit protocol. This integration aims to tap into the largely untapped market of institutional credit on XRPL, which Clearpool sees as one of the most established networks.
The migration will also include a token migration from CPOOL to CLEAR, with 70% of the new CLEAR supply allocated to existing token holders and 15% going to the treasury. The proposed allocation also includes a buyback and burn mechanism, where half of the protocol fees would be used to purchase CLEAR from the open market and permanently destroyed.
Ripple has committed investment to launch Clearpool's yield products for XRP and RLUSD, which will offer loans using real-world assets as collateral. This is part of an institutional credit fund announced by Ripple, Cicada Partners, and Clearpool earlier this year.
