CME Challenges Nasdaq's Bitcoin Options Approval
Nasdaq's proposed Bitcoin index options remain frozen due to a challenge from CME Group over the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) authority to approve them.
CME, which operates the largest US federally regulated crypto derivatives franchise under Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) oversight, petitioned the SEC in June to review its May approval of QBTC.
The SEC granted CME's petition on July 29 and has set no deadline for deciding the case. Public statements are due August 24.
