CME Group Debuts Two New Cryptocurrency Benchmarks

CME Group has expanded its regulated crypto product offerings by introducing two new multi-asset cryptocurrency benchmarks. The CME CF Emerging Crypto Index tracks 10 major tokens excluding Bitcoin and Ether, while the CME CF Crypto Market Index includes Bitcoin and Ether alongside 10 other large-cap cryptocurrencies.

Both indexes use free float market cap weighting and update in real-time every second, with a biannual review process. These new benchmarks are designed for investment funds and derivatives, providing tools for tracking and trading diversified crypto assets beyond the two largest coins.
