CME Group Unveils BTIC Tool for Institutional Traders
The CME Group has launched a new tool called BTIC (Basis Trade at Index Close) for managing Bitcoin futures. This innovation enables institutional traders to lock in spreads against regulated reference rates as contracts approach expiration.
BTIC is an adaptation of the equity index futures trading model and helps manage basis risk by linking futures execution to the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate. It operates across London, New York, and APAC sessions.
This tool provides precision for portfolio managers tracking the Bitcoin benchmark and offers real-time insights into market sentiment and funding costs.
