CME Launches Two New Crypto Indexes Excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum

CME Group has launched two new crypto indexes that track altcoins like XRP and Solana, excluding Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The Emerging Crypto Index is a 10-token index that includes BNB, XRP, SOL, HYPE, LINK, XLM, SUI, UNI, AVAX, and AAVE, using free-float market cap weighting. The indexes will be reviewed twice a year in June and December.

The CME CF Emerging Crypto Index is designed for financial products and can support passive replication by funds. It can also serve as a settlement benchmark for derivatives, giving it a potential role beyond measuring spot crypto prices.
