CME Group CEO Terry Duffy has expressed his desire to introduce 24/7 oil trading in the United States. Speaking at a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) meeting, Duffy pointed out that decentralized finance markets are increasingly influencing traditional finance.

Duffy cited platforms like Hyperliquid as examples of how markets can affect traditional financial markets even when they are not accessible to U.S. participants. He noted that users can access these markets through virtual private networks (VPNs), despite restrictions on U.S. participation.

Duffy expects round-the-clock trading to become standard across financial markets. While he did not specify a timeline for this shift, his comments suggest that the industry is moving towards a more global and continuous trading environment.
