Coatue Management Loads Up on AI-Related Stocks, Doubling Down on Semiconductor Supply Chain
Coatue Management's founder Philippe Laffont is doubling down on artificial intelligence stocks. He has invested nearly 23% of his firm's public equity portfolio in a handful of AI-related companies.
The semiconductor supply chain thesis is at the heart of Laffont's investment strategy. He's loading up on 'semi-cap' stocks, which build the picks and shovels for the AI gold rush. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) is one of his major holdings, as it fabricates the vast majority of the world's most advanced processors.
Lam Research (LRCX) and Applied Materials (AMAT) are also prominent in Coatue's portfolio, both critical suppliers of equipment used in chip fabrication. Micron Technology (MU), a memory chip giant benefiting from insatiable AI data center demand, and ASML, the Dutch company with a near-monopoly on extreme ultraviolet lithography machines, complete the picture.
Coatue manages approximately $90 billion in total assets across public and private strategies. The firm holds around 66 investments focused primarily on AI semiconductor supply-chain companies as of mid-August 2026.
