Coinbase Adds 290+ Perpetual Contract Markets via Hyperliquid Integration

Coinbase has integrated over 290 perpetual contract markets into its Base App through Hyperliquid, allowing eligible users to trade with leverage up to 50 times. This integration enables users to execute trades within their existing wallets without leaving the app.

The assets covered by this new feature include Bitcoin, Ethereum, stocks, and commodities. However, the product is not available to users in the US, UK, and Canada due to regulatory restrictions.

This move reflects Coinbase's shift back to financial products after previous social features underperformed, aiming to capture the high trading volume in perpetual contracts, which represent about 75% of crypto trading volume.
