Coinbase Adds Musk Adviser to Board Amid Regulatory Spotlight
Coinbase Global has added Anthony Armstrong to its board of directors, expanding the crypto trading service's leadership team from nine to ten members. Armstrong brings a unique blend of traditional finance experience and expertise in frontier technology companies.
A former CFO at xAI and X Corp., Armstrong was a long-time adviser to Elon Musk before joining Coinbase. He will also join its audit committee, according to the company's latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The appointment comes as Coinbase takes steps to expand its services in new markets, including launching crypto derivatives trading in Canada. The platform now offers 23 perpetual and dated futures for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
