Coinbase and Moov Team Up to Bring Stablecoin Services to Community Banks

Share

Coinbase and Moov have partnered to bring stablecoin payments and custody services to over 1,000 U.S. community banks and credit unions.

The partnership will allow these financial institutions to offer their customers a way to use stablecoins for consumer payments, merchant acceptance, settlement, payouts, and real-time funding without building out their own crypto infrastructure.

Coinbase will provide the digital-asset infrastructure behind the partnership, including custody accounts and payment APIs, while Moov will connect these capabilities to the payment systems already used by its financial-institution customers.

The integration does not mean every institution connected to Moov will immediately offer stablecoin products. Each bank or credit union will still need to decide whether to participate and determine how the services fit within their compliance and risk-management requirements.
