Coinbase-Backed Group Endorses 32 House Candidates for Midterm Elections
Coinbase-backed advocacy group Stand With Crypto has endorsed 32 incumbent House candidates for the November midterm elections.
The endorsed candidates voted in favor of the CLARITY Act, which is currently stalled in the Senate and requires 60 votes to pass. The bill aims to establish clear rules for digital assets, but it faces challenges due to disagreements between banks and the crypto industry over how stablecoin rewards should be treated.
The group says its endorsements are based on candidates' digital asset policy positions, and it will announce its Senate endorsements closer to Election Day. Stand With Crypto executive director Mason Lynaugh framed the 2026 push as the group's political operation maturing, saying 'In 2024 we were very much proving that the crypto voter is real,' and in 2026, 'we're very much showing that we have the organizing capacity and that our advocates are a true voting bloc that can move the needle.'
The CLARITY Act has faced setbacks, including a dispute over how stablecoin rewards should be treated. President Trump's own crypto holdings, which have grown to hundreds of millions of dollars in value tied to World Liberty Financial and his official memecoin, are also an issue.
