Coinbase-Backed Group Endorses 32 US Midterm Candidates in Crypto Lobbying Push
The crypto industry is flexing its muscles in Washington, as Stand With Crypto, an advocacy group backed by Coinbase, endorses 32 US midterm candidates. The endorsements are a key part of the group's efforts to cement its influence in Congress and advance pro-crypto legislation. Stand With Crypto hopes to return industry-friendly candidates to office and has already spent $200 million on the November midterm elections.
The group's executive director, Mason Lynaugh, said that the 2026 campaign is building on the success of their 2024 effort, which proved that the crypto voter is real. Lynaugh noted that Stand With Crypto has more than 3 million registered US advocates and aims to organize and mobilize voters rather than through large campaign expenditures.
Among the endorsed candidates are key House allies, including Republicans Tom Emmer and Bill Huizenga, and Democrats Ritchie Torres and Josh Gottheimer. The group's endorsements also include several candidates running in competitive races, such as Arizona Republican Juan Ciscomani and Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick.
