Coinbase Global reported its second quarter 2026 results on July 30, highlighting significant strategic progress despite missing Wall Street expectations on both revenue and earnings. The company's total revenue came in at $1.2 billion, falling short of the $1.35 billion analyst consensus, while posting a net loss of $359 million.

Coinbase emphasized its transformation into a diversified financial platform, with -related transactions now representing just 12% of total revenue, down from more than 50% historically. Despite challenging market conditions that saw total crypto market capitalization decline 11% quarter-over-quarter and spot trading volumes fall 25%, Coinbase achieved an all-time high market share of 10.3% in crypto trading volume.

The company's strategic shift away from Bitcoin dependence has accelerated dramatically, with revenue excluding Bitcoin spot trading now representing 88% of total revenue, up from 45% in Q2 2020. Subscription and services revenue reached a record $555 million, providing meaningful insulation from trading volume volatility.
