Coinbase Bids Farewell to Regulatory Wars, Embracing Growth with CLARITY Act Momentum
Coinbase's new Vice President, Ryan VanGrack, has declared that the regulatory battles in the cryptocurrency sector are over. Since taking office on July 9, 2026, VanGrack has shifted the company's focus from court battles and sanctions to growth and innovation.
The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) is gaining 'tremendous momentum,' according to VanGrack. This law aims to establish a federal regulatory framework that sets clear boundaries of authority between the SEC and CFTC regarding digital assets, ensuring proper oversight, investor protection, and U.S. leadership in digital assets.
Under VanGrack's new approach, Coinbase seeks to expand its services beyond being just a crypto exchange to become a full-fledged financial services provider, offering areas such as stock trading, futures, prediction markets, and AI tools.
