Coinbase Boosts Deribit with High-Performance Matching Engine

Share

Coinbase has upgraded its Deribit platform to include a high-performance matching engine. This new engine is expected to process more than 100,000 orders per second with sub-millisecond matching latency.

The upgrade aims to improve execution speed and scalability for institutional derivatives traders. The shared infrastructure used by Coinbase International Exchange will provide faster order processing while supporting the growing trading demands of institutional clients.

The new engine also introduces a built-in 'speed bump' for selected instruments, which temporarily delays aggressive orders to give liquidity providers additional time to adjust their quotes during volatility.
