Coinbase Brings AI Trading for Stocks to Mainstream

Share

Coinbase has rolled out AI trading for stocks, marking the next step in its agentic finance strategy. The service, which was previously available for crypto and derivatives, now allows users to trade securities using supported AI agents such as ChatGPT, Cauld, and Claude Code.

The move is part of Coinbase's effort to bring 'agentic finance' - the use of artificial intelligence in financial decision-making - into mainstream trading. According to Coinbase, supported equities include S&P 500 US stocks.

While some users have reported success with AI trading, the company cautions that AI agents can make errors and does not guarantee the accuracy of any action taken by an AI agent. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and authorizing trades made through agentic workflows.
