Coinbase Brings Native Crypto Futures to Canadian Market

Coinbase has launched derivative contracts in Canada through its Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM) platform. This move makes CFM the first major crypto-native platform to offer direct native crypto futures in the country.

The CFM offering includes 23 perpetual and dated futures, five commodity futures, and index futures like COIN50. Investors can use derivatives for both hedging and speculation with leverage.

This development comes as a significant expansion of services offered by Coinbase to Canadian investors. Prior to the CFM offering, Canadian investors could only access similar products via lightly regulated venues.
