Coinbase Brings Regulated Derivatives to Canadian Traders

Coinbase has expanded its offerings in Canada by introducing derivative contracts for eligible traders. This move allows sophisticated investors to trade, speculate, and hedge on the platform using highly liquid and regulated contracts.

The launch includes direct native crypto futures through Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), offering perpetual and dated contracts with nano-sized contracts designed for lower upfront capital requirements and up to 10x leverage. Traders can access a range of derivatives including:

23 perpetual and dated futures such as Bitcoin, ETH, and SOL;

Five commodity futures including Gold, Silver, and Oil;

And index futures like COIN50.
