Coinbase Brings Regulated Stablecoin Rails to 1,000+ Community Banks
Coinbase has partnered with Moov to bring regulated stablecoin infrastructure to over 1,000 community banks in the US. This collaboration allows small and community banks to leverage Coinbase's custody integrations and accept, settle, and provide real-time funding using stablecoins like USDC, PYUSD, and USDG.
The partnership is a result of regulatory clarity provided by the GENIUS Act passed in July 2025, which established clear federal reserve and licensing rules for payment stablecoins. This shift enables banks to operate without relying solely on SEC securities law.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that stablecoin payments will grow into a large industry and could become an attractive business opportunity for the company. The partnership has set a precedent in accepting, settling, and providing real-time funding through existing banking systems for multiple cryptocurrencies.
