Coinbase has rolled out US stock trading to eligible UK users, marking the latest expansion of its investment services. The move gives UK investors access to buy and sell nearly 4,000 US equities through Coinbase's app, with zero commission fees and support for fractional shares.

The company said that trades can be started as low as £1 and can use either GBP or USDC to fund purchases. Additionally, users can utilize their stablecoin balances directly for stock purchases. Trading hours are set at 24/5, extending beyond the standard hours of major US exchanges like NYSE and Nasdaq.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong described the move as part of its effort to close the gap between traditional assets and digital assets, with a long-term goal of building an 'Everything Exchange' covering crypto, stocks, derivatives, savings, and borrowing on one platform.
