Coinbase CEO Rejects Pivot to AI, Sees Crypto as Complementary Tech

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has rejected the idea that investors should pivot from cryptocurrency to artificial intelligence. He claims it's not a zero-sum game, where one field's gain is another's loss.

'I used to hear versions of this, and it's the wrong way to think about the world,' Armstrong said on Elon Musk's X network. 'It's zero-sum, scarcity thinking.'

Crypto, a general-purpose technology, doesn't compete with AI, according to Armstrong. In fact, he believes AI makes crypto more important because AI agents will need their own financial infrastructure.
