Coinbase CEO Says Crypto Rules Will Clear Up Regardless of CLARITY Act Vote

Share

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says US crypto regulations will clear up regardless of whether the CLARITY Act passes its Senate vote on September 15th.

The legislation aims to establish a federal market structure for digital assets, dividing oversight between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

However, Armstrong believes that even if the bill fails to advance, the SEC and CFTC are prepared to publish their own rulemaking, providing regulatory clarity to the industry.

Negotiations for the legislation have produced bipartisan compromises, with support extending across crypto companies, banks, and law enforcement groups.
