Coinbase CEO Sees $400,000 Bitcoin by 2030 Amid Regulatory Clarity
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong is optimistic about the future of Bitcoin and digital assets. He believes that regulatory clarity in the US will support a rebound in cryptocurrency activity and help unlock institutional capital for the market.
Armstrong pointed to the proposed Clarity Act, which he expects to pass with bipartisan negotiations and support from law enforcement groups, banks, and crypto companies. This legislation could establish clearer rules for digital assets, protect consumers, and promote domestic crypto development.
Armstrong also expects greater clarity even if Congress does not pass the bill, as the SEC and CFTC are prepared to issue rulemaking and innovation exemptions under their existing authority.
He compared the potential impact of regulatory developments to the GENIUS Act, which led to over 150 large companies integrating stablecoins within three months of passing. Armstrong believes that broader crypto rules could remove a key barrier for institutional investors and bring tokenized equities and perps to the US.
Armstrong also argued that regulated stablecoins create structural demand for U.S. Treasury bills. He personally believes that Bitcoin has already reached the bottom of its latest cycle after roughly a year of weakness.
Armstrong expects regulatory developments and the next Bitcoin halving to support the market over the coming years, and called $400,000 Bitcoin by 2030 'a reasonable target.'
