Coinbase CEO Sees Bitcoin Bottoming Out Ahead of Next Halving Event
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong believes that Bitcoin has already bottomed in its current cycle and is poised to trend upwards over the coming year or two.
Speaking to Bloomberg Television on Thursday, Armstrong stated that Bitcoin goes through four-year cycles and thinks this one is behind us. He points to the next halving event as a catalyst for growth, saying it will be an exciting time for the market.
The Coinbase CEO also expressed optimism about regulatory clarity in the crypto industry, citing the Clarity Act's progress in the Senate. While acknowledging that the bill's passage is uncertain, Armstrong noted that U.S. regulators have signaled their readiness to publish clear rules regardless of the outcome.
Armstrong hopes to bring tokenized equities to the U.S. soon and identified four trends he has high conviction in: stablecoin payments, tokenization of equities, prediction markets, and agentic finance. On California's proposed wealth tax, Armstrong voiced concerns, stating it would be a bad thing for the state and could lead to a budget deficit.
