Coinbase CEO Sees Bitcoin Price Reaching $400K by 2030: 'Reasonable Target'
Bitcoin's price is likely to trend higher over the next one to two years after reaching its cycle low, according to Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong.
In an interview with CNBC Squawk Box Asia on September 10, Armstrong stated that the current downturn in Bitcoin has been consistent with past cycle patterns and that he believes the bottom is in for BTC in this cycle.
Armstrong pointed to the asset's four-year cycle as a basis for his view, noting that the current down period has lasted approximately one year. He also highlighted growth in Coinbase's broader ecosystem, citing a 700% increase in stablecoin payments on Base and projections for the stablecoin market to reach $3 trillion by 2030.
As for Bitcoin's price target, Armstrong called $400K by 2030 'a reasonable target', even though it would represent a roughly fivefold increase from current levels over just over three years. He also expressed confidence that regulatory clarity will arrive within a month, regardless of the outcome of the CLARITY Act vote on September 15.
