Coinbase CEO Sees Clarity in CLARITY Act Vote
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has framed the upcoming Senate vote on the CLARITY Act as a fork in the road for US crypto regulations. The bill, which aims to divide digital-asset oversight between the SEC and CFTC, needs 60 votes to advance.
Armstrong believes that even if the bill fails, the SEC and CFTC are prepared to publish rulemaking shortly after, which would still deliver regulatory clarity within days of the vote.
If the CLARITY Act passes, it would hand the industry a broader legislative framework, described by Armstrong as a milestone capable of unlocking institutional capital. This could pave the way for tokenized-equity products in the US.
