Coinbase CEO Sees Clarity in U.S. Crypto Regulation Despite Senate Vote
Coinbase's Chief Executive Brian Armstrong says the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act has clarified U.S. crypto regulation regardless of its passage in the Senate on September 15.
The bill assigns oversight to the Securities and Exchange Commission for securities-tokens and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for decentralized commodities, creating a federal framework expected to boost institutional adoption.
Armstrong points out that more than 90% of roughly 165 million agentic payments recorded so far have taken place on Base, Coinbase's blockchain, using x402 and USDC. He believes this gives the company a leading position in the segment of agentic finance.
Armstrong also reiterates his view on Bitcoin, saying that $400,000 by 2030 is a reasonable target. He adds that he believes the latest Bitcoin market cycle has already found its bottom.
