Coinbase CEO Sees Regulatory Clarity for Crypto Regardless of CLARITY Act Outcome
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says that the US crypto industry will gain federal regulatory clarity regardless of whether the Senate passes the CLARITY Act on September 15.
The bill, which would divide oversight between the SEC and CFTC, has already gained support from several key stakeholders, including Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon.
Armstrong framed the vote as a 'two-track event,' stating that durable legislation will arrive if the cloture vote succeeds. However, he noted that the SEC and CFTC are prepared to publish rulemaking if the bill fails.
The outcome of the vote will have significant implications for the US crypto industry, with Armstrong arguing that regulatory clarity will unlock institutional capital and drive innovation in areas like tokenization.
