Coinbase CEO: Senate Vote Will Bring Clarity to US Crypto Regulations
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong sees two potential paths for US crypto regulations, regardless of the Senate's vote on the CLARITY Act.
The bill aims to split digital-asset oversight between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Armstrong believes that even if the bill fails to pass with 60 votes, the SEC and CFTC are prepared to publish rulemaking shortly after, which would still deliver regulatory clarity.
The passage of the bill, on the other hand, could unlock institutional capital by paving the way for tokenized-equity products in the US.
