Coinbase Consolidates Liquidity by Dropping Eight Crypto Trading Pairs

Coinbase is removing eight cryptocurrency trading pairs as part of its efforts to consolidate liquidity into more active markets. The exchange announced that it will suspend trading in ANKR-EUR, BAT-BTC, BAT-ETH, COMP-BTC, FIL-BTC, GRT-BTC, JASMY-USDT, and YFI-BTC on September 15.

The decision follows Coinbase's regular review of markets, with the goal of improving overall market health. Importantly, the underlying cryptocurrencies will not be delisted, only their respective trading pairs will be removed. This means that traders can still access these assets through other order books.

This is part of a broader pattern on Coinbase, which has been consolidating liquidity into more active markets throughout the year. In August, six non-USD markets were suspended, and in May, several USD-denominated trading pairs were removed. Additionally, some assets have been disabled for trading entirely due to reviews of their listing standards.
