Coinbase Deploys High-Speed Matching Engine on Deribit

Share

Coinbase has rolled out a high-speed matching engine on Deribit, its derivatives arm, capable of processing over 100,000 orders per second with sub-millisecond matching latency.

This upgrade aligns Deribit with Coinbase's core execution infrastructure and is part of the exchange's broader consolidation strategy to fold its derivatives business into a single, higher-performance venue.

The new engine introduces brief delays for aggressive orders, giving liquidity providers more room to adjust quotes during volatile market conditions.

Coinbase plans to migrate perpetual futures contracts onto this high-performance matching engine, extending the upgrade to Deribit's most actively traded product line.
