Coinbase Diversifies Revenue Streams Amid Regulatory Shift
Coinbase has made significant strides in diversifying its revenue streams and expanding its product offerings since going public in 2021. At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026, management highlighted that Bitcoin spot trading now accounts for just over 10% of total revenue, down from more than 50%. In contrast, subscription services have grown to about $2.5 billion on an annualized basis.
Coinbase's 'Everything Exchange' is expanding into derivatives, equities and prediction markets, with prediction markets already at a $100 million annualized run rate. The company holds around 12% of the world's on-chain crypto assets, reinforcing its position as the largest crypto custodian.
Alesia Haas, the chief financial officer, said the company has 'really diversified' since going public and remains committed to positive adjusted EBITDA. However, despite management's optimistic tone, Coinbase's financial picture remains challenging with a market cap of $47 billion and revenue of $6 billion over the last twelve months as of Q2 2026.
