Coinbase Drops Eight Crypto Trading Pairs Amid Liquidity Consolidation
Coinbase has announced that it will be dropping eight cryptocurrency trading pairs on September 15. The exchange cited its regular review of markets as the reason for the decision, stating that it aims to 'improve overall market health and consolidate liquidity.'
The affected trading pairs include ANKR-EUR, BAT-BTC, BAT-ETH, COMP-BTC, FIL-BTC, GRT-BTC, JASMY-USDT, and YFI-BTC. However, the underlying cryptocurrencies will remain available through their USD order books for Coinbase Advanced Trade users in eligible regions.
This move is part of a broader pattern on Coinbase this year, with the exchange previously suspending six non-USD markets in August and another set of trading pairs in May. In addition to removing individual markets denominated in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and euros, Coinbase has also disabled trading for several assets in recent months.
