Coinbase has chosen Abu Dhabi as its international hub for blockchain-based securities tokenization. The company obtained a license from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), allowing it to expand its digital asset operations beyond cryptocurrency trading.

The license enables Coinbase to arrange investment transactions and provide custody services for tokenized financial instruments within a regulated framework that allows traditional securities to be represented as digital assets on blockchain technology.

Through its new hub, Coinbase aims to represent shares and other financial instruments on the blockchain while allowing investors to retain the rights associated with the underlying assets, including dividend and voting rights, with access through digital wallets.
